1.      Government Hostels for SC/ST Candidates

There are 3 Boy's and 3 Girl's Hostels for SC/ST in Nanded District with a total  strength of 510 granted by the Govt.

2.   Govt Of India Scholarship

There are in all 160 Educational institutions  including senior/junior and vocational education. 102 institutions have been provided with the grants in the year 1999-2000.

3.      School for Nomadic Tribes

Under this scheme there are 39 Primary NT Schools and 17 Secondary Schools.  15,788 students are getting the  benefit of these schools.

4.      Welfare of the Handicapped

There are  67 Schools for the Handicapped. The total strengthis 1800. Rs. 2.43 Lacs is granted for the scholarship of the students from these schools and  Rs. 4000 are granted for the self employment of the Handicapped persons.

There are 9 “Vradhashram” in Nanded and 185 aged persons are taking the benefit of these institutions.

5.      Employment

 Registrations of Physically handicapped students have been started in 1978. A separate division is working for this.  129568 candidates have registered their names among which 6000 were recommended for Govt. / Private Jobs at the end of DEC 1999. 800 candidates were employed through this scheme.

147 institutions have been benefited under The House building Scheme for the reserved category

6.      Vidya Niketan

A School for NT has been started in 1996-97 at  Vasant Nagar (Kotgyal), Tq. Mukhed at Kolmewadi (From 5th to 12th standards). The strength  is 80 students per class in the year 1999-2000.

7.   Stitching of  foot wear :

Stitching of the foot wear is the major work for the ST persons in  Maharashtra. The Tin Sheds are provided to these workers with 100% Grants from the Government.  51 persons got the benefit of this scheme in the year 97-98, which was  increased, to 95 in the year 98-99. l 400applications were received for the year 1999-2000.

8.      “Matoshri Vradhashram Yojana”

Shri. Kanhoba Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Madnapur, Tq. Kinwat has been selected to implement this scheme in Nanded District. The  “Vradhashram” building has been completed at Pingali,Tq.Hadgav and 20 inmates have been taken in by the end of December 1999.
